James Falconi returns to NOREMIXES as Atmosphreq for his third release on the label. Atmosphreq’s signature distorted soundscapes take on a more organic nature on 'Transient Forms', with guitar swirls becoming even more prominent and pronounced; the dynamics are equally discrete. Synth lines and melodies breathe on 'Transient Forms', providing a new look into this composer’s sonic palette.

Nothing on an Atmosphreq release is performed by chance: each tone, carefully calculated. This accuracy and contemplation, a need for perfection, is what Falconi demands of himself. Everything is crafted with precision. When you’re told that Falconi has a Doctoral degree in composition, it makes sense. You can hear an attention to detail which is not typical of ‘drone’ or ‘ambient’, the various terms that are thrown around to label music of this style. The definition of ‘drone’ includes the words monotonous and dull, which you will never find in a Falconi production. The music demands awareness and functions as an externalization of this talented composer’s mind.
