Machine Gun Mouth

by RVLVR

/
1.
Your words, like bullets, whizzing by at a thousand miles an hour. And as I run from your machine gun mouth, the walls come crumbling down from all four sides. At this point there is no turning back, the wheels are set in motion. And as you count your blocks one at a time, the walls come crumbling down from all four sides. Here today, gone tomorrow… As you look into my only eye, all you see is your reflection. And as I run from your machine gun mouth, the walls come crumbling down from all four sides. The very fact that you think you are wise drains the blood from your complexion. And as you build your blocks one at a time, the walls come crumbling down from all four sides. Here today, gone tomorrow… Don’t forget to say goodbye.

about

RVLVR returns to NOREMIXES with a fresh vocal cut filled with analog/digital hybrid studio production recorded at Kawari Sound in Wyncote PA. Machine Gun Mouth, finds RVLVR continuing to explore his unique production techniques: dripping analog tape delays, acoustic pianos, chorused vocals, scattery hi hats and synthesizer textures work harmoniously, pushing composer James Sauppe’s RVLVR Sound into new, almost pop-like, territory. Machine Gun Mouth sonically feel like what would happen if in 2019 George Harrison was dropped into the Kawari studio.

NOREMIXES label boss, Starkey, fresh off the New Theia:Today & Tomorrow EPs on Eat the Bomb delivers the first remix. Starkey’s approach stutters the vocals into indistinguishable fragments with pulsing synths. Next up is Philadelphia’s John Morrison. Morrison, the podcaster, journalist and producer, flips the track with a modern hip-hop groove. NOREMIXES’ mysterious WWAARRPPSSPPEEEEDD then kicks up the bpm with a jungle and IDM-inspired Amen tearout of the original.

William Fields, fresh off his FieldsOS radio show for Resonance Extra, provides a stunning remix which showcases the Delaware-based producer’s algorithmically generated music style and approach to composition. Lastly, Shell Money slows the tempo down, adding even more dubbed out delay providing a dirge march of the original emphasizing organ-like textures.

Machine Gun Mouth is the prequel to a new EP from RVLVR dropping in October.

Your words,
like bullets,
whizzing by
at a thousand miles an hour.

And as I run
from your
machine gun mouth,
the walls come crumbling
down from all four sides.

At this point
there is no turning back,
the wheels are set
in motion.

And as you count your blocks
one at a time,
the walls come crumbling
down from all four sides.

Here today,
gone tomorrow…

As you look into
my only eye,
all you see is
your reflection.

And as I run
from your
machine gun mouth,
the walls come crumbling
down from all four sides.

The very fact
that you think you are wise
drains the blood
from your complexion.

And as you build your blocks
one at a time,
the walls come crumbling
down from all four sides.

Here today,
gone tomorrow…

Don’t forget to say goodbye.
